Many people are wondering if the Nostradamus 2012 predictions are really true. The predictions floating around that you may have heard about are clearly suspect as to whether or not they could actually become real historical events. An ancient Rosicrucian (a member of the religious secret society that held its doctrine on esoteric truths of ancient past), Nostradamus is credited with having made predictions about Adolf Hitler, the Great Fire of London, Napolean and yes, even 9/11. As such, many enthusiasts lend credence to what his quatrains have to say about anything beyond the present.
Nostradamus wrote his predictions in what are known as quatrains, or verses of four lines each. Many have been citing his September 11th predictions as reason to believe that he is to be trusted for his 2012 ones. If you're not privy to the quatrains in question, Nostradamus predicted that the sky would behold a great king of terror, with a fire approaching a great new city. He went on to say that the city of York would see a great collapse of twin brothers torn apart by chaos.
Pretty crazy stuff, right?
In another quatrain, Nostradamus talks about mankind getting into a great trouble -- with another closely on the way. He goes on to explain that "the great mover of the universe" will renew thirst, blood, disease, rain, famine and steel weapons, with their being fire seen from the heavens. This is one of the quatrains that people point to when taking part in the Nostradamus 2012 discussion.
It's all thought-provoking to say the lease, many interpretations exist, but the most unnerving one is that of it's resemblance to chapters in the Book of Revelations from the Christian Bible. Since the Mayan calendar ends in 2012, many people are saying this coincides with line "The great mover of the universe will renew time." And of course, the real excitement over this quatrain is the talk of "steel weapons" and a "fire in the heavens". Could Nostradamus be predicting a nuclear war?
